I do Blessing bags every year for the homeless. 2012 was my first year to do this annual event, that we are turning into 4 times a year, at least. I am asking for donations to go towards bags for those of you who would like to participate in this Blessing, but are not able to come into the store to bring items. A Blessings Bag is a backpack or a gallon ziplock bag you have filled full of items that you can keep in your car. Whenever you see a homeless person, you BLESS them with the bag of items)!! I hand them out at various times in year alongside some wonderful non profit organizations that set up a event lunch for the homeless.

BLESSING BAGS EXAMPLE: (Just think of what would YOU want)

Back Packs (inexpensive ones with strings) or Gallon size Ziplock bags

chap stick

packages of tissues

toothbrush and toothpaste

comb

soap

hotel size shampoos

trail mix

granola bars

crackers

pack of gum

band aids

cough drops

mouthwash

coins or predetermined dollar amount, say 5.00 (could be used to make a phone call, or purchase a food item)

hand wipes

pair of socks

a packet rain poncho

tampons (for women)

Camo tarps (to help them blend in and not have police called on them to move)

The ideas could be endless!

If you would like to contribute to this cause but are not able to bring items into the store, you can send us a donation to buy items to include in the bags!
